AFL Sydney team of the Week - Round Four

Round Four of the AFL Sydney Women’s Premier Division saw several lows and highs for the various clubs.

For example, North Shore won their first match of the 2020 season in style as they defeated UTS, 10.14 (74) to 1.0 (6). Whereas Sydney University suffered their first loss of the season to the hands of East Coast in a pretty one-sided match, 1.0 (6) to 8.11 (59).

Manly Warringah extended their unbeaten streak to four games following a big win over UNSW, while Macquarie University extended their winless streak to four after falling to the Inner West Magpies.

Southern Power just got over the top of the Pennant Hills Demons in what was the closest match of the round, 6.8 (44) to 5.2 (32).

Captain: Brenna Tarrant

Vice-Captain: Rebecca Privitelli

Round Four saw Manly Warringah claim their fourth straight win, and poetically they also hold the most spots in this side with four. Following closely behind them is a trio of clubs with each having three named players - East Coast, Inner West and the Southern Power.

As for this week's leader, we have selected a Melbourne Demon youngster that was named as East Coast's Best on Ground during their big win as our Captain, which is none other than Brenna Tarrant. The Vice-Captaincy goes to a very familiar name that was also the Magpies' Best on Ground on the weekend, Rebecca Privitelli.

With three goals kicked on the weekend, our Captain for this week looks at home at half forward alongside Lisa Steane from Manly Warringah. At full forward is this week's Vice-Captain, who booted five goals during the Magpies big win. The final two spots up forward are reserved for Taylah Davies who was the Eagles second Best on Ground - as well as Sasa Barnes who booted three goals for the Bombers.

In our midfield is a familiar Team of the Week performer in Lael Kassem from Inner West. She is joined by Pennant Hills' Kelsey Hutton and Macquarie Uni's Elise Franco. As for the followers for this week, they include Inner West's Melissa Freckelton, Sydney Uni's Maryanne Harley, and Manly Warringah's Erin McKinnon.

At half back we have East Coast's Chloe Arndt as well as Southern Power duo of Natalie Smith and Madison Smith. Manly Warringah's Best on Ground, Amee Dawson also calls our backline home, alongside North Shore's Caelah Stanley.

Four individual clubs are represented on our interchange, with Pennant Hill's Hayley Lowe and North Shore's Pippy Clegg calling it home - alongside Claudia Gunjaca from UTS and Seena Gulden from UNSW. The three remaining spots in our Round Four Team of the Week belong to Sarah Ford from East Coat, Ruby Sargent-Wilson from the Southern Power, and Elizabeth Graham from the Wolves.
