SANFLW Team of the Week - Round Eight

Anzac weekend plays host to a close round of SANFLW footy, with three matches being decided by ten points or less.

The reigning premiers join the winners list for the first time in a month after they stormed home to defeat the Eagles, 5.2 (32) to 1.1 (7). Bouncing back strongly, the Roosters kicked two unanswered goals during the opening term--a feat they would repeat during the closing quarter.

Norwood were forced to hold off a reinforced West Adelaide outfit to win, 5.5 (35) to 3.7 (25). Trailing by four goals at the final break, the Bloods managed to nearly triple their score during the final seventeen minutes--but inaccuracy saw them fall just 10 points shy of this year's flag favourites.

A Glenelg goal with just four minutes remaining proved too big of a hurdle for the Panthers to overcome during their narrow loss, 2.5 (17) to 3.2 (20). The Panthers managed to overcome a slow start and gain the lead during the third term, but the Tigers were able to fightback and win the arm wrestle.

A Central District goal with just four minutes left was enough for the Bulldogs to outlast the Double Blues, 3.6 (24) to 3.5 (23). Yet another close result that includes the Double Blues, this time there was not much separating the sides at each break--but in the end, it was Rosenzweig who stepped up to the plate by kicking the Doggies match winning goal.
