SFLW Team of the Week - Round Fourteen
After two weeks off, the Falcons and Wineflies wasted no time reminding us of why they are the pacesetters, while the Sharks celebrated footy's return with a hard-fought win.
Aldinga welcomed back footy's return with a 40-point win over Hackham, 8.6 (54) to 2.2 (14). The Sharks managed to overcome a slow start, which saw them trail at quarter time, by breaking away during the second term with three unanswered goals to eventually claim the hard-fought win.
Reynella wasted no time showing why they're the premiership favourites with a 112 point demolition of Port Noarlunga, 16.16 (112) to 0.0 (0). Emily Franklin led the way with 4 goals as the Wineflies finished with 8 individual goalkickers, half of which registered multiple.
Cove's Renee Ullrich celebrated her 50th match by earning Best on Ground honours while Flagstaff Hill's Emily Brockhurst finished one-fifth of the way to 50 goals, finishing with a tally of 10. The Falcons broke the game wide open with a 5 goal haul during the second term before running away to claim the 11.7 (73) to 1.6 (12) win.

Captain: Emily Brockhurst
Vice-Captain: Madison Bennett
Unsurprisingly, the three winners from the weekend's action are well-represented in our Team of the Week, with Reynella, Flagstaff Hill and Aldinga holding the most spots.
The leaders of the Round 14 Team of the Week are fellow SANFLW teammates who both had a major impact on their respective sides. These being Flagstaff Hill's Emily Brockhurst, who receives the captaincy, and Reynella's Madison Bennett, who receives the vice-captaincy.
Headlining this week's forward line is the competition's leading goalkicker, Emily Brockhurst, who started things off post-lockdown in style by booting 10 goals during the Falcons' 11 goal win.
Keeping with the theme of Emily and goal kicking, a Reynella duo of the same name find themselves on our half-forward line. The veteran forward, Emily Woods, finished with a 3 goal tally while fellow exciting Winefly, Emily Franklin, added 4 to her season total.
Rounding out the half-forward line is Reynella's Renee Wurfel who enjoyed a stellar game in the black and white which included 3 majors.
Another Winefly, Kristy Jenkinson, makes an appearance deep in this week's attack after booting 2 majors during Reynella's massive win.
Returning from Great Southern duties, Aldinga's Dakota Oniszk made her presence felt up forward for the Sharks by booting 2 goals.
Rucking duties fall to Glenelg's Anja Bancevic, who had her signature impact for Reynella during their dominant win.
Our Round 14 Vice-Captain, Madison Bennett, joins the on-ball division after proving to be Reynella's most standout player from an overall standout result. The hard-tackling and fast-paced player is certainly a valuable asset for the premiership favourites.
The centre is home to Aldinga's Best on Ground, India Hamdorf, whose best on display for the Sharks also included 2 goals. Alongside India on the wing is fellow Shark, Eilish O'Hanlon, who was also one of the better performers in the yellow and black.
Rounding out the middle is a duo of hard-running Falcons, Alana Baker and Tamsyn Morriss, who were both standouts from the reigning premiers Round 14 win.
Headlining this week's back six is the milestone Cobra, Renee Ullrich, who earned Best on Ground honours during her 50th match.
A Falcons duo of their Best on Ground, Kelsey Rodman, and third best, Rachel Crockart, line up side by side this week after impressing off half-back for the Falcons.
Also named on the half-back line is Hackham's Best on Ground, Emily Hateley-Watson, whose versatility was on display for the Hawks' as Emily registered a major score. Fellow impressive Hawk, Caitlin Haire, also joins this week's back six.
Keeping with the Best on Ground trend, Port Noalrunga's best player from the weekend, Stephanie Rallis, finds herself deep in defence. The versatile and high-IQ player was a highlight from an otherwise tough weekend for the Cockledivers.
Cove's Jaime Norup joins the rotations this week as our second ruck after impressing for the red, white and blue. Likewise, Flagstaff Hill's Riley Mitchell makes an appearance after having a similar effect on the Falcons.
Meanwhile, Aldinga's Kimberly Robinson joins the rotations after kicking a goal during what was labelled as the second-best performance for the Sharks.
Also joining the backup brigade is Reynella tall, Caitlin Williams, who was a standout in the black and white and was unlucky not to be a starter.
The final two spots in our Round 14 MWM SFLW Team of the Week belong to Aldinga's Nadine Jansma, and Port Noarlunga's Brittany Pratt.
