SFLW Team of the Week - Round Seven

We saw some big statements made by the league leaders as we enter the final week of the 2020 SFLW home and away season.

Round Seven saw big wins across the board with two sides going scoreless and all matches were decided by ten goals or more.

Cove bounced back in style with a 12.10 (82) to zip with over Aldinga, while the Saints continued their unbeaten run with a 9.11 (65) to zip win over Hackham.

Flagstaff Hill also continued their winning ways with a 10.15 (75) to 1.2 (8) win over Morphett Vale--making the Emus the only losing team to score during the round.

Scroll down to see this round's Team of the Week, plus a small breakdown of the squad.

Captain: Rebecca O'Shaughnessy

Vice-Captain: Alana Baker

The three big winners of Round Seven have all been well represented this week with each having six named players. As for the leaders, it is hard to go past Rebecca O'Shaughnessy and her five-goal performance for the Cobras. The Vice-Captaincy goes to the Falcons' Best on Ground, Alana Baker.

Our Vice-Captain for this week is one of three Falcons that call the midfield home as Baker is joined by the Falcons' second Best on Ground, Tamsyn Morriss--as well as Emily Brockhurst following her two goal performance on the weekend. The followers for this week are a little more mixed, with Tayla Weinert from Christies Beach joined by Cove's Aidene Parr who booted two goals on the weekend, and Aldinga's second Best on Ground, Kiara Lovett.

Joining our Captain in our forward line is Hannah Crump who booted two goals for Saints, and continuing on with a streak of strong performances was Casie Coombe who finished with two goals and was named best for the Christies Beach. Also named up forward is Morphett Vale's Best on Ground, Katelyn Wilson, and Flagstaff Hill's Soriah Moon who added to her goal tally with three goals.

This week's backline is home to a duo of Sharks in Brook Fallon and Jaimi Griffen, while Cove's Best on Ground Lauren Kenny is joined by teammate Renee Ullrich. Also named down back is Paige Simmons from the Saints, and Hannah Armstrong from the Emus.

The interchange is home to Jaimi Norup who booted two goals for the Cobras on the weekend, as well as the Falcons' third Best on Ground, Carli Morton. Hackham's Best on Ground Emily Cooper also makes her way onto the side, and so does Melanie Koster from the Saints.

The final three spots in our Round Seven SFLW Team of the Week belong to Lara Ward from Cove, Tayler Poland from Christies beach, and Nikki Parker from Hackham.
