SFLW Team of the Week - Round Three

Round Three of the Southern Football League Women's competition saw two games won by under a goal, which is a clear-contrast from Round Two what saw the closest winning margin sit at 19-points.

Round Three also saw Aldinga register their first win of 2020, while Cove extended their unbeaten run to three straight weeks.

We have of course, taken all of the best performers from another great weekend of football, and put them into our SFLW Team of the Week.

Scroll down to see this round's Team of the Week, plus a small breakdown of the squad.

Captain: Melanie Koster

Vice-Captain: Emma Morrison

Because Round Three was the closest round we have had this year, it has been reflected in this week's side, as each club has at least four named players - while Christies Beach, who had the biggest win of the round, sits with five named players.

As for this week's leaders, we have selected Christies Beach's Best on Ground during their three goal win to lead our side, which is Melanie Koster. The Vice-Captaincy goes to Morphett Vale's Best on ground from the weekend, Emma Morrison.

A duo of Morrison's Morphett Vale teammates call this week's forward line home, with Kate Dunn and Katelyn Wilson named at full forward and half forward respectively. Joining them in the forward line is a duo of Christies beach talent in Tamara Page and Kelly Armstrong. Holding her spot in our forward line is Cove's Felicity Oliver, and joining her is Aldinga's Jean-Louise Papps.

This week's Captain, Melanie Koster, is named in the midfield - alongside this week's two wings, Aldinga's Kiara Lovett and Cove's Lisa Hurcombe. The followers are made up of this week's Vice-Captain, Emma Morrison, who is named in ruck - and she is joined by a duo of Reynella talent Sarah Bourn and Ella Besley, the latter of which was actually playing wing but we wanted her as a starter.

A familiar name from last week makes our backline again, with Aldinga's Jaimi Griffen calling it home, and she is joined by a fellow teammate in Alsion Szalanski. Rounding out this week's backline is Reynella's Rebecca Denyer, Hackham's Samantha Smith, Cove's Lara Ward, and Morphett Vale's Hannah Armstrong.

A Hackham duo makes up half of this week's interchange, in Alana Browne and Courtnie Noble. Joining them is our second ruck, Anja Bancevic, and Christies Beach's Paige Kelly. The final three spots go to Cove's Jaimi Norup, Saints' Pamela May, and Hackham's Chelsea Deeth.
