SFLW Team of the Week - Round Two

Round two of the SFLW is done and dusted and to celebrate, we bring to you our very first SFLW Team of the Week.

Both Reynella and Cove registered a solid three goal win, while Morphett Vale brushed aside Aldinga by 50 points. These three winning teams are reflected in this round’s Team of the Week, as they each hold the most spots in the side.

Spots in the Team of the Week are based on a player’s performance during that round, so no previous accolades are taken into consideration. Likewise, we have received some great help to make sure most the of the players are in their correct positions, however some are slightly out of position because we had to try and fit them all in.

Scroll down to see this week’s team, plus a small breakdown of the squad.

Captain: Aidene Parr

Vice-Captain: Brina Thompson

As we mentioned earlier, the three winning teams, Cove, Reynella, and Morphett Vale, all hold the most spots in the week’s side – with each having five named players. Following them is Flagstaff Hill with four, then both Hackham and Aldinga with three apiece.

As for the two leaders of this week’s side, we have chosen Cove’s Aidene Parr as the Captain, and Reynella’s Brina Thompson as the Vice-Captain.

Things seem to come in pairs for this week’s forward line, with Cove’s Felicity Oliver and Aidene Parr, Reynella’s Nikki Curnow and Shawna Bradshaw, and Morphett Vale’s Katelyn Wilson and Kate Dunn, all coming it home.

On the wings is Flagstaff Hill’s Alana Baker and Cove’s Jahna Perry, while joining them in the centre is Shanique West from Reynella. The followers for this week are Cove’s Jaime Norup, Hackham’s Caitlin Ross, and Morphett Vale’s Hannah Fitzpatrick.

Unlike this week’s forward line, the defence is a little more mixed; with Emily Brockhurst from the Falcons and Samantha Smith from the Hawks calling it home. Along with them, the backline is also home to an Aldinga duo of Jaimi Griffen and, although she was a rover this weekend, Molly Flanagan-Sjoberg. Rounding out the backline is Morphett Vale’s Brooke O’Brien, and this week’s Vice-Captain, Brina Thompson.

The final spots in this round’s Team of the Week, go to Cove’s Renee Ullrich, as well as Carli Morton and Jenna Andrews from the Falcons. Morphett Vale’s Alisha Lyall, Reynella’s Zannah Loxton, and Aldinga’s Jean-Louise Papps, round out our first ever SFLW side.
