SFLW Team of the Week - Round Two
Round Two proves to be a one-sided weekend, with each of the matches decided by nine goals or more.
Only inaccuracy stood between Flagstaff Hill and an even bigger win, with the Falcons kicking 7.15 (57) while holding Aldinga scoreless. The reigning premiers kicked 1.4 (10) during the second term and 1.5 (11) during the third term--but they still came out on top with a 57 point win.
Brooke O'Brien's six goals saw the Saints brush aside Cove by 57 points, 8.10 (58) to 0.1 (1). Impressively the Saints' eight goals came from just two players, six from the aforementioned O'Brien and two from the young-gun Saint, Indi Flynn.
A six goal second term saw Reynella storm onwards to claim the biggest winning margin of Round Two, with the Wineflies defeating Hackham, 19.25 (139) to 0.0 (0). Alana Browne was impressive as usual for the Hawks, while Reynella's Georgia Pennifold and Rebecca Denyer combined for ten goals.

Captain: Brooke O'Brien Vice-Captain: Georgia Pennifold
Each team has been represented in our Round Two MWM SFLW Team of the Week--yet it is Christies Beach and Reynella who lead the way with six represented players, closely followed by Flagstaff Hill who sit with five named players.
The Round Two Captain is the high-scoring Christies Beach forward, Brooke O'Brien, while SANFLW listed youngster, Georgia Pennifold receives the Vice-Captaincy after impressing for Reynella.
Headlining this is of course the Round Two Captain, with Brooke O'Brien spearheading this week's attacking after booting six of the Saints' eight goals.
Joining her at half forward is this week's Vice-Captain, with Georgia Pennifold joining the side on the back off a standout four goal performance with the Wineflies.
A young Christies Beach duo of Indi Flynn and Angelique Dean also call this week's attack home. Indi celebrated the Saints' big win by collecting two majors while Angelique finished with a fourth best-on performance.
Rounding out the forward line is a Wineflies duo, with Allana Nimmo-Lyne joining Rebecca Denyer--both of whom put on strong displays while the latter finished with six goals to her name.
The ruck landscape of the competition has changed dramatically since 2020, with three of the competition's best rucks, Moon, Bancevic and Norup, all busy with SANFLW duties. This leaves the for open for Reynella's goalkicking tall, Grace Doran
Amognst the followers is the ever-reliable Hackham Hawk, Alana Browne, and joining her on-ball is the equally as reliable Christies Beach Saint, Melanie Koster.
Flagstaff Hill's first and second Best on Ground performers from Round Two find themselves side by side in our team, with Alana Baker joining Emily Brockhurst.
The final spot in this week's middle line-up belongs to Emma Crisp from Christies Beach, who was able to make herself known despite playing in such a star-studded line up.
First time at full back and facing off against quality opposition, Aldinga's Kiara Lovett earns a spot in this week's side at full back after impressing in her new role.
Rebounding seems to the theme this week, with the back line being home to Cove's Renee Ullrich and Flagstaff Hill's Brooke Kleinig.
Joining Renee is a fellow Cove Cobra, with Seraphina Moon joining the side after she showed plenty of fight by choosing to keep trying to play well despite the game being well-over by halftime.
A Hackham duo rounds out this week's backline, with Rachel Cole joining Caitlin Haire. The two played well despite being put under the pump for the entirety of the match--but this explains why these two made the Hawks best players.
Perhaps showing the nature of the weekend, each of the Team of the Week defenders were from the losing sides, with the exception of Brooke. The defenders from the Big Three had limited chances to flex their muscle this week.
Cove's Best on Ground from the weekend headlines our rotations for this week, with Felicity Oliver joining the side on the back of a strong performance.
Likewise, Emma Crisp joins the rotations after putting on a decent display during the Saints big Round Two win. The final two spots amognst the rotations belong to Flagstaff Hill's Chloe Meyers and Reynella's Renee Wurfel.
Adding some X-factor to the rotations is Reynella's Caitlin Williams, who celebrated their big win with two majors.
The last two spots in our Round Two MWM SFLW Team of the Week belong to Christies Beach youngster, Mia Morriss, and Flagstaff Hill's Rachel Crockhart.
